Getting started

The tutorial is a goblin fight. Prop your phone against a wall, step back until your whole body is in frame, and squat the goblin to death.

How rep counting works

GymScape watches your form through the camera using on-device pose detection: nothing is uploaded, nobody reviews footage. A rep only counts when the movement is real: full range of motion, honest posture. Half squats and nose-nowhere-near-the-floor push-ups get you nothing, which is exactly why the numbers on your character mean something.

Tip. Bad lighting and cut-off limbs are the usual reasons a rep won't count. Full body in frame, decent light, and it just works. Some exercises (High Plank, Sit-Ups) also support landscape.

Goals and streaks

Set daily goals for the exercises you care about. Clear all of them and your streak grows: the streak is the heartbeat of the whole game, and everything else (fights, bounties, gathering) quietly feeds those same goals while you play.

Locked apps

This one is optional. Choose apps to lock and GymScape shields them at the system level until you pay with time earned from training. Plenty of players skip it and just play the game.
